The survey conducted on women and their knowledge about the contraceptives being used showed that the ignorance is high. The ignorance is not limited to only one continent but two most developed-Europe and North America.

The survey included 5,700 women and the results were disappointing. Many women who use progesterone based pills a.k.a mini pills don’t know that the pills need to be taken at the same time every day. About 25% of the woman don’t have a fixed time for the pill and 85% of them are not even aware that the specified time window for this pill is just three hours. When not taken on time, the pills lose their reliability.

Among 44% of the women who use the pill, 26% of them don’t know what kind of pills they are taking, not to mention the mechanisms on which the pills are working.
Over 50% of women forget to bring or take their pills during holiday seasons.

And, when they fail to prevent the pregnancy, they blame it on the contraceptives. Only a small number of women abide the rules and instructions regarding birth control pills-use and this is the main reason why birth control pills fail to do what they are supposed to.
