My husband is having urinary incontinence in last 12 years. It worked effectively until 3 months ago, when he started to have sleeping disorder. This sleepiness is a undesirable effect of the drug or it is a possibly associated symptom to his illness? What are other side effects of imipramine? What else could I expect to happen during therapy?
Imipramine is a tricyclic antidepressant, which causes the bladder muscle to relax. It is not a highly effective therapy for urinary incontinence but it may be worth trying to occupied discomfort. The undesirable effects of imipramine include sleepiness, blurred vision, constipation, dry mouth and abnormal heartbeat, but it is not necessary to all patient experienced them.
