Hi,
I'm confused right now and I hope someone might be able to help. I had a miscarriage back in Sep 05 and it took four months to get my first AF in Jan 06. I've had two periods since and they were irregular...one was 30 days the other 28 days but they would last the normal three days each. My last period was on March 7 so I should have gotten my period today but this past Saturday I had some bleeding. It caught me off guard because it was four days early. It wasn't much bleeding and it didn't last long, only one day. My period didn't come today and I've taken a couple of pregnancy tests the past two days and they both came back negative. I have had the flu the past week also so I don't know if that could have played into the situation. Anyway, does anyone have any idea what might be going on? I want to call the doctor to get some advice but I don't want to go until I absolutely need to. I really want to be pregnant so I'm hoping this might be a good thing. Any advice is greatly appreciated. |

Well, considering that the bleeding occurred just a few days before your period when implantation bleeding usually occurs, I would say there are fat chance that this was IT as well. Most common, implantation bleeding does last just for one day, so you have another + to add in the possible pregnancy column.
It could be that the tests you did were just a bit early and I reckon you should repeat them a few days after your period hasn’t arrived.
However, it is true that a cold or a flu as well as medications intake could interfere with a woman’s cycle and make her not only be late but also miss a whole period but if this were the case, how are we going to explain the minor bleeding you experienced. I don’t think that your period would be that light even if the cold messed it up a bit.
What do you think? Have you done any additional tests so far? I hope you did get pregnant! |

| Thanks Helene for your response. I think your right...the cold couldn't have been that big of an impact on my period. However, it's been over a week now and still no AF. Lots of cramping like it is on it's way but it never gets here. Went to doctor last Thursday and got a blood test done...turned out negative. The last HPT I took was on Wednesday and it was negative. Not sure what is going on! I'm going to wait another week or so and hopefully something will happen...either I get my AF or a HPT turns out positive. Keeping my fingers crossed for a positive! |
