Implantation bleeding or just spotting?

I have been trying to get pregnant for six months now, age 37, and have had for the past two tries, one episode of spotting (only when wiping) at about 7 DPO each time, then nothing, then my period started exactly 14 DPO - right on time. Why would I get that spotting exactly the same time as there would be implantation bleeding? I have had negative pregnancy tests each time. Has anyone else had this? This has been very emotional because I have been thinking it was implantation bleeding. Would appreciate any input!

Just came across your post. It's been a couple of months and wondering if you've found out anything. I have the same symptoms each month. I'm very regular, 34, ttc #1, this is my first month on Clomid. My early spotting seemed heavier today (cd 26). I had a little spotting while wiping yesterday. No one can explain this.....
