I am 5 weeks pregnant. On Sat. the 15, I started to bleed a little at 2 am. By 9 am I was in such pain that I thought I was going to vomit. I rested the entire day and on into Sunday the 16th. I had no cramps on Sunday and almost no bleeding. Am i miscarrying or is this implantion bleeding. I am so confused; any help is appreciated. Should I go to the emergency room? I can't get into see the doctor for antoher 3 days.

Hi. Since you are 5 weeks pregnant it is too late for it to be implantation bleeding. A lot of woman experience a bit of bleeding in early pregnancy. Small amounts of brown blood are considered 'normal' but if the blood is red, there is a large amount of it or it is associated with painful cramping you should seek medical advice.

Thanks for the reply. I went ahead and went to an emergency room. They said that everything was normal right now except for the heart beat being a little low. I am actually 6 weeks and one day along according to the ultrasound. I got to see the baby and the heart beating. They said they couldn't promise me that I wouldn't miscarry in the future. I will always have what I saw tonight though. It was one of the most remarkable things in the world to see that little shape and see the heart beat. Thanks again for the reply.
Take care.
