I'm going to cut straight to the story. I've been to these types of forums before and I haven't recieved sufficient help at all, so please, help me out here..

I have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

I am taking depakote and zyprexa.

I smoke marijuana occasionally.

I am 18 years old.

I've been experiencing erectile problems for months now, which is horrifying for an 18 year old with a girlfriend. Not to mention a huge blow to my self-esteem which wasn't that big to begin with.

Now i've started zyprexa and my ability to get an erection is gone. I mean, absolutely nothing. (i'm going to be frank here, I need help.) I can still masturbate, but get this... No semen comes out. All that comes out is a clear fluid.

I've had some sort of skin infection on my penis/testicles for almost a year now. I've been to many doctors about it, and they all tell me "it's fine" and gave me creams for it. They gave me Fucidin, which didn't do a damn thing, and then they gave me aldara, which burned the skin away. They gave me another cream that I can't remember. They all told e i'd be able to have sexual intercourse with it.

I'd like to know what the cause of my sexual dysfunction is. Is it marijuana? is it the meds for my Bipolar disorder? or is it the sores on my penis?

it is my observation that zyprexa is the cause of your erectile dysfunction my boyfriend took it and could not get or maintain an erection properly. He never had these problems on antidepressants or from smoking pot. ask your doctor about alternative treatments for bi-polar that are not atypical antipsychotics maybe lithium could help you. another male friend of mine experienced erectile problems on seroquel, the problems cleared up for both men when they stopped the atypical antipsychotics..

Though it is likely a combination of the drugs, and I cannot speak to the Zyprexa, marijuana can definately have a negative effect on erectile function (i know from personal experience). In addition, sex is a very mental thing, if you think its having an effect on your ability to get an erection it probably is, either through a chemical process or through your own psychology. I would suggest evaluating your diet, as well as making sure you get an hour or so of strenuous cardio exercise (running, biking, swimming) every other day (in my experience this has a HUGE effect). More blood flow = harder penis, that simple.[/quote]

Brother,

The answer should be common sense. Stop all the drugs today!!! Especially the weed. see if you rash clears up and your erections come back.

I understand that you are bipolor. But what can be more depressing than this. After you stop the drugs. Start a sport and sweat out all those poisons. Let us know what happens
