Imuran (Azathioprine) don't work well anymore

Hi, my mother is 63 years old and she had kidney transplantation last year. After operation doctor prescribed her Imuran to inhibit her immune system and it works very well till last few months. I would like to know why is this happening is and what can be done about this.Thanx

Hi, it is very difficult to give proper answer on such question. Imuran is medication which should provide proper conditions for transplantation and acceptance of some organ. It would be the best to consult you doctor to change therapy because it is possible that her organism used to it and dont react properly any more.
