Hi, when a couple has difficulties in conceiving who should get tested first? Is it female usually to get tested first in order to determine if there is ovulation?

Actually, it is the best if both partners are tested at the same time, and if you can determine from their results where is the problem and how to solve it. Tests for women may take up to six to eight weeks, or as much as three months or longer. It is because some tests will have to be repeated at specific time in menstrual cycle. With men it goes faster, because they have no menstrual cycle and tests can be repeated at any time. Most frequently used tests for women are basal body temperature test and hormone tests. When the diagnosis is precisely determined, it is possible to start appropriate treatment.
