Posted: 01/20/06 - 06:21 Post subject: Inflammed lymph node in the labia |
|
|
I am 28 years old. For a year and few months i have been having a pain from a swelling on the right lower side of my labia close to my tigh. Before this started i never had any menstrual pain. Now this swelling and pain comes with my mensrual cycle. It is like a mentsrual pain for me now. After my menstrual period, which normally last for 3-4 days, this swelling and pain lingers on for 1-2 weeks and gradually goes down. It then comes again with my next menstrul cycle.
I've been to hospitals and clinics on this issue and i have taken several antibiotics and it still persist. 2weeks ago i did a scan, which was suggested by the doctor i saw that day. The result was an inflammed lymph node under the skin. I saw my 'period' few days ago and the story is still thesame.
Please i need your help. I have taken antibiotics more than ever before in my life and no result. Right now i'm in pain. What should i do? |

Hi! Good that I ran into you! I spoke to all my friends but none of them had that problem.
I also have that swelling but mine is present all the time. It is a firm long lump, it doesn’t feel like a ball at all. It is extended. It is tender when I touch it but occasionally it gets really big, that big that I can’t walk and it hurts like crazy.
I don’t see a pattern in showing up. It gets big like every six months in my case.
I saw a gynecologist once and she just told me to apply the ice and gave me a spray to apply on it. I can’t say that helped much. As if the pain and the swelling went away on their own!
Did the doctors tell you what could have provoked that inflamed lymph node?
I am going to see a dermatologist on Monday. Maybe, they will be able to help me. |

Hi there,
I get roughly the same thing, and have no idea what it is... for me I think it's related to temperature or something down there.. not sure. It swells and feels really hot to touch- no blisters or anything, just a lot of swelling and it's painful to touch - stinging really... any ideas would be great ... it's been happening for a while and nearly always happens after a period and occasionally at other times but rarely. |

Posted: 04/08/07 - 23:53 Post subject: Bartholin’s glands |
|
|
I have similar issues as "Miia", who posted a little further up... except I have not had the issue recur. This is the first time I have experienced the long firm bump, it feels like an inflammed vein or some sort of embedded worm (gross). Before, I have gotten a white, fluid filled cyst-like bump on the other labia recurrently. It seemed to be fine if I could muster up the courage to squeeze and drain it. Hasn't come back in a while.
But I just read up about Bartholin’s Glands which apparantly become inflammed with cysts or fluid back-up for no apparant reason in women during their reproductive stage (usually 20's).
Check this out: www.aafp.org/afp/20030701/135.pdf
I wish I could find some sort of natural remedy. The only thing I can think of is to soak in some therapetic salts, perhaps... |

| I have had this same problem off and on for 30 yrs. In my case I have found it comes from wood fibers in the toilet tissue causing swollen lymph nodes to form. Using a really soft toilet tissue helps to stop new lymph nodes from forming. |
