Hi, I am diagnosed with interstitial cystitis. I have frequently need to urinate and it is always painful. What is this disease like?

Interstitial cystitis is experienced with symptoms of mild discomfort, pressure, tenderness, or intense pain in the bladder and pelvic area. The symptoms vary from severity of case and include an urgent need to urinate, a frequent need to urinate or both of these symptoms. When bladder empties, a patient feels relief, and as it is filling pain starts to grow. As it is believed that not one but a few diseases are responsible for this condition, some doctors have started to use the term painful bladder syndrome (PBS) to describe cases with painful urinary symptoms, which don’t comply with definition of interstitial cystitis.
