If someone had unprotected sex and they came inside. then 5 days later had a intrauterin Device inplanted. What happends if an egg is fertilized. does it still implant or what?

A woman can get pregnant with an IUD.

There are conflicting opinions as to what to do about this. Some believe you should take the device out ASAP. Others believe if you do you could miscarry.

Assuming this has or can happen to you, see your doctor. He'll know what to do.

THAT wasnt the question. IF you had unprotected sex say 5 days before having one implanted. AND IF an egg was fertilized what happends does it still implant or will it pass cause of something being there already?

The COOL thing about a copper IUD is that it can be used as an "Emergency contraceptive" up to 7 days after sex.

I love my IUD =) I have had one for years =D

It prevents IMPLANTATION if you have already fertilized an egg. Studies show that the IUD is 99% EFFECTIVE as an emergency contraceptive!

Im not gettin the copper getting the Minerva. Will that do the same?

NO, mirena is not effective as an emergency contraceptive.

I did not liek Mirena due to hormonal problems, so I switched to paragard.
