Posted: 11/06/06 - 14:53 Post subject: Irregular bleeding. HPV? and a scared 21 yr old. |
|

| For the past couple years I have been on birth control. I had bleeding inbetween periods all the time but the doctors thought I did not have enough hormones. I tried about 9 different types of pills and my body still didnt adjust. I had pap smears and everything seemed fine with no call backs until a couple months ago. The doctors thought I had fibriods but I am ONLY 21 YEARS OLD! did an ultrasound and found nothing. finally after doctor to doctor, I was notified that I have "irregular cells" in the lining of my cervix and that I do need another pap in 6 months. I am off the pill and am still bleeding twice a month... as if i have 2 periods. I also have a bit of discharge and burning during sex. I am really scared because I was told it may be HPV but they will have to monitor it. Please can anyone help me with understanding this because waiting and not knowing nothing is a huge stress and i am still young... i want to have kids. i hope i can have kids. please, can anyone relate ? |

| yeah. a lot of people are exposed to HPV. it just depends what type of HPV you are exposed to. it can cause cancer, gential herpes etc. i was exposed to a precancerous HPV and i ended up developing cervical dyplasia and i had to get a LEEP done. i went for a pap after that, it came back normal, went for my 3 month pap and it came back abnormal and i still havent recieved a call after doing ANOTHER pap. i think they are just moderating me now. so dont worry, you will live through it. i was only 15 years old when i had my surgery and i was very scared. i think the bioposy is probably more painful than the actual surgery. they say i can still can kids and everything but we will see. i have irregular periods |
