|

| I got the depo provera shot in Oct 2007. The doctor did not warn me of these severe side effects. I never really had a period, just started spotting nonstop starting in dec and to this day (feb 2008) am still spotting on a daily basis. I did not go back for my second shot which i was due for in Dec. I am still seeing the side effect of something that should have been out of my system nearly 2 months ago!!! Who knows when this will end. Ive been spotting for nearly 3 months striaght, its brown and not normal. Very embarrasing as well Im 22 y.o. and cant have a sex life becuase i dont want to ruin anyones sheets!!! I would never recommend this form of BC to anyone. |

| I also went on DEPO fon FEb. 08th. Three weeks prior to my second shot I started bleeding heavly . The morning are work, I am sick of how many eaccidents I have had in the past 3 weeks. I went to my doctor and she said there is nothing she can do about it. This drives me nuts! I have been bleeding non stop ( heavy flow) for 3 weeks and I cannot believe there is nothing medicine can do. Has anyone heard of a solution to this, or waiting is the oly method!? |

| I have been having horrible side effects from the depo shot. I started the shot almost 2 years ago. I am still having problems. After the first shot I was bleeding almost daily and the nurse told me to get the second shot and it would help regulate the hormones. Well that worked until right after the 3rd shot. Then I was back to bleeding again. I never knew when I was going to bleed or when it would stop. It wasn't heavy but still annoying. When I got married I decided that I wanted to get pregnant and stopped taking the shot. My last shot was in Feb 2007 and I am still having problems. After my last shot I had no period for 3 months and now I am always bleeding. I feel like I will never get pregnant. I would never recommend the depo to anyone! |

| I took Depo in 1995-96...I got off of it because I got married and now I can't have children the "normal way". I was told that Depo screwed my system up badly that I now don't produce any eggs and I'm only 34. |

I got the shot 4 months ago, because I was anemic apparently due to a fybroid found in my womb. The shot was suppossed to stop my periods, but it caused the opposite. I haven't stopped bleeding, I'm sick of it. My OB put me into a hormone treatment like 2 months ago to stop it, but didn't help. Now she will give some estrogen treatmet to see if it helps. I'm so mad that my body is all messed up. And getting more and more hormone treatments, that don't help at all. Don't ever take that Depo Provera. It isn't worthy running the risk to see if it can cause you the effect of stopping bleedings. I'm desperate and find no help at all . |

|
|
| I was just put on depo four weeks ago to thin my uterus lining to help with a future surgery to remove a fibroid and polyps that have been cause me major problems for over a year. Due to the polyps and fibroid I had very heavy periods that lasted 3 week long. I researched the depo and didn’t really want to go on it but was told it would help with the bleeding, reduce it, and that I may only get some spotting and it was needed for the upcoming surgery. While I’ve been bleeding none stop since my first shot, now 4 weeks and its getting heavier. I’ve been drained from all the past bleeding and now this. Not sure if I can do another cycle but I was told they want me to do a second cycle of depo. I haven’t had a sex life in three months…and before that it was limited. Isn’t there a better way to help me…how healthy can it be for woman to bleed this much. I would have nerve gone on depo just for BC, and now I wish I questioned it more when I told to go on it for surgery matters. I think I’ll be arguing the second cycle and I hope in the meantime they give me something to help with the heavy bleeding, I can’t live this way. |

Well , i started DEPO PROVERA because my period cycle was messed up - i would have it for 9 days , than 12 days later have it for 6 days , than 6 weeks later have it for 19 days and so on and so forth . it was messed up.
so the doctor at my health clinic GLADLY told me about depo provera and how it is used everywhere in the world and how it is the best type of birth control you can possibly get, after a while it would even STOP your period , without affecting your being able to have children in the future.
isnt that a " wow " , i was SO happy .. plus you dont even need to remember to take pills or anything , because it lasts for three whole months , and you can just sit back relax , and be 98 % protected.
the last three months have been the worste 3 months of my f***ing life.
my doctor never included the fact that half the people who get it get nonstop bleeding for months maybe even years.
my first period on depo came six weeks after the injection , and as i am typing this 4 days after the birthcontrol should be out of your body the bleeding continues. everyday , i go to the washroom and see my underwear full of blood. thats 2 months of non stop bleeding.
reading these posts i am scared. i am horrified, and angry , why would my doctor put my through this sh*t. when does it end , when can i be happy with myself again. ?
i advise any one who is planning to get the injection DONT.
and if you are in the same boat as me , be strong and good luck .. |

Posted: 07/23/08 - 03:53 Post subject: My gynocologyst insisted on the shot, my gut told me differe |
|

I am 17. I've had a DNC in Late April. After a while I went back to my gynocologyst for a follow up, he INSISTED I recieve the Depo-Provera Shot. I knew I didn't need it, and something inside me was telling me I shouldn't get it. Me being 17 the doctor insisted it was best. I told him I didn't want it but after listening to his opinion gave in . I recieved the shot June 16th 08. I later started my period June 28th. The day today is July 23rd 08 and I am STILL on my period . It is pretty light now, but extermely annoying , I have never had a period last longer then 5 days before this. My periods usually last 3-5 days. I also Noticed my hair falls out A LOT in the shower. Another thing is I Have NO Sexual Desire whatsoever. Which is okay, Im not complaining about that its just weird and a little scary . I am now regretting not going with my intuition. When will my period stop? Is this normal |
