Irregular periods and pregancy tests

I have a few questions. If I have not had a regular period for a year since i stoped takking my birth control when should it go back to normal? How long can I wait to take a pregancy test at home? I had incores and by the third day after i started very light bleeding what is this a sign of?

It can just take time for your periods to return to normal everyone is different and there isnt a set date for your period to return after stopping birth control....You could however go to your obgyn and she can prescribe meds that will get your periods back to being regular again....You can take a pregnancy test just to see, but I dont know how accurate it would be since I dont know when the last time you have had intercourse....If this is neg, wait at least another 2 weeks and retest again just to see....
