I am 49 years old and currently undergoing the chemo therapy because of my colon cancer. But the way things are going, that will simply not be enough, And that leaves us with only one option – abdominoperineal resection. I would just want t hear is that the only solution for me? Perhaps there is something else that can be done? Have you heard of anything else?

This is a tough question. As far as I know, the only certain way of elimination all the cancer cells is cutting them of the body, so the resection is exactly that. Unfortunately, since we are talking about the intestinal system, the wastes have to be excreted somehow and that is a painful part. For now, let’s just hope that the procedure goes well, live the consequences for later.
