Is Arava good medication for psoriatic arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis?

I have been dealing with psoriasis for five years now. It is a very progressive disease. One year ago, the situation complicated with the arthritis attack. It affected knees and hips. I had strong pain, redness, and high temperature. Doctor prescribed me with Arava. I have heard it is a good medication for psoriatic arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis?

Yes, it should be very effective in dealing with those two conditions. Actually, my grandfather uses Arava for his RA problems and he does not complain at all anymore. I know that Arava might even help with preventing further structural damage that might happen in joints. The exact mechanism is still unknown, although they say it prevents abnormal tissue growth and development.
