Hi, I am 65 years old man. Whole my life I was healthy and never had the need to seek for medical help. Recently I have noticed that something is not as it used to be, with my health. My doctor told me that I am suffering from high blood pressure and that I should try with calcium-channel blockers. She prescribed me Calan. Is Calan a calcium-channel blocker?

Calan is calcium-channel blocker. It is usually prescribed to people who are suffering from high blood pressure and from angina pectoris (chest pain). Calan, as medication affects calcium movement into the cells of heart and blood vessels. Result is relaxed walls of blood vessels and increased supply of oxygen and blood to heart.
