I have been thinking about the best way to deal with my neck problems. Doctors did not help me much, except for giving me the drugs to ease the pain. A friend of mine suggested me to go to a chiropractic practitioner. Is Chiropractic a legitimate form of treatment? I would not want to worsen my condition.

Well, with this alternative way of healing, you have to be careful. I mean, there are colleges that have to be finished and on those you study only chiropractic and nothing else. So, look for people that have this kind of education and you will be certain that you are in good hands.

I'm not sure what Cello is trying to say in the previous post, but you have nothing to worry about with seeing a chiropractor. The simple fact is that the instruction and training that chiropractors get is along the same line as medical doctors, only chiropractors don't learn how to use surgery or drugs to improve health. Instead, they learn how to maximize the effectiveness of the nervous system by removing interferences from nerves and letting the body's own innate power heal itself. Drugs will just cover up a problem, a chiropractor should be able to get to the root of it.

As with any doctor, don't be afraid to shop around. Even among chiropractors there are many different specialties and one may help you much more than another.
