Hi, did you know that there is vaccine recently developed for preventing cervical cancer caused by HPV? It is called Gardasil, and acts even on precancerous genital lesions, and genital warts due to HPV. Vaccination is recommended for all women, aged 13-26. Possible side effects of HPV vaccine include pain, swelling, itching, and redness at the injection site, fever. The vaccine is given in a series of three injections during six months. HPV vaccine has proven to be highly effective in preventing 70% of all cervical cancers.
