Is Meloxicam a generic form of Mobic?

I have been taken off Celebrex after three years use and now my physician put me on Mobic. Just wondering at what dose Mobic would be dangerous and is Meloxicam a generic form of Mobic as my neighbor is taking for osteoarthritis. If it is not, could anyone inform me if Meloxicam is more powerful drug than Mobic?

Mobic with generic form Meloxicam, is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that is indicated to help relieve the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. It works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. Meloxicam is available as tablet containing meloxicam 7.5 mg or as a tablet containing meloxicam 15 mg.
