Is Sudafed considered a blood thinner?

My son is suffering from sinusitis. For a long time, he has been using Sudafed. As I understood the doctor, that drug reduced the congestion made by the inflammation of sinuses. Drug really helped, but since we did not start with the therapy right away, anemia occurred. Is Sudafed considered a blood thinner?

Among bad side effects of Sudafed therapy, there is no mentioning of that effect. Anemia could be prevented with meals rich with vitamins and minerals, or he could take iron supplements. But, these must be discussed with his doctor first, because occurrence of anemia symptoms is a serious thing. As for Sudafed, side effects are stomach problems.
