Is angioplasty a routine procedure?

Hello, my father is suffering from angina pectoris for a long time now. He has problems with chest pain, episodes happened only during strain before, but now it happens all the time. Doctor said that he has to be subdued to angioplasty because of the obstructed coronary arteries. Is angioplasty a routine procedure?

Angioplasty is invasive procedure for widening the obstructive coronary arteries (those that bring food to the heart muscle) and in that way help the heart function better and easier than before. It is actually a routine procedure and in your father’s case, it is called cardio angioplasty. You should not worry, he should be better than before the surgery.
