Is autism related to ADD?

Hello! My sister has a son. He has been diagnosed ADD recently. This is the first child in our family who has such problems but I’ve heard that there are more and more children with ADD and other disorders. I am afraid that his ADD will lead him to autism. Is autism related to ADD?

You probably know that ADD is a development disorder that impairs one's ability to keep focused which in most cases leads to learning disorders (LD). PDD pervasive developmental disorders fall under more severe types of disorders followed with autism as the most severe disorder. .
