I’m planning to remove one of my moles. It is pretty big and I’m worried is it cancerous. I will go to my doctor soon to see what I can do about it. I just wanted to know Is biopsy necessary after mole removal? I don’t know what to do, so give me some advice, please.
Not always. If your dermatologist thinks that your moles could potentially be cancerous, he will usually examine them carefully by performing a biopsy. He would either excise part of the mole, a small tissue sample for examination under the microscope. This tissue is then sent to a pathology laboratory to be examined.
