Is cardiac myopathy curable?

My father has some kind of cardiac myopathy. He didn’t want to say to me that until yesterday when he was feeling really bad. Now I’m terrified. I don’t know how serious this disease can be. Please, can somebody tell me Is cardiac myopathy curable? Can he live normally with it? Thanks!

As I know, there is no cure for cardiac myopathy (or cardiomyopathy). Taking the medications regularly can really help. If cardiomyopathy is caught early, treatments may prevent progression of the disease. You can help reduce your chance of this illness by avoiding some of the conditions that can contribute to a weak heart.
