Is chemotherapy necessary when it comes to CLL?

I guess I need some good info on CLL. My mother has it, although I have heard that usually men get affected with this condition (just her bad luck, unfortunately). Anyway, she has been told that she might not need therapy for a while but that the condition will progress slowly and at one moment, she will have to start with treatment, and it might include chemotherapy. Is it really necessary when it comes to CLL?

Chemotherapy is one of the several options when it comes to treating CLL. We should also mention radiation and bio therapy, bone marrow transplantation etc. But, you should hope that need for these therapies will come after years, maybe decades. I mean, there are people with CLL that lived normally for years; therapy starts when blood tests show health status changes.
