Hi! I think I have a problem with my grandpa. He looks very sad. I don’t know what to say to him, how to help him. I’m afraid that he has depression or maybe even dementia. I heard many stories about dementia. Can somebody tell me is dementia as common as depression in the elderly?

Hi! I also have very old granddad. He is depressed. As I know, depression in the elderly is actually more common than dementia. You should know that depression and dementia share many similar symptoms (like low motivation, memory problems and sluggish movements), and usually it can be difficult to make differences.
