Is dexamethasone effective for pituitary gland problems?

Hi! I have one question about medication called Dexamethasone. My mum needs to use it because she has rheumatoid arthritis. But I was thinking that it is given to cancer patients during their chemotherapy. And my friend told me that her dad was taking it to treat some pituitary gland problems. Now I'm confused totally. Is dexamethasone effective for pituitary gland problems?

Dexamethasone belongs to drugs called steroids and it's used to treat many different conditions. If body does not produce enough of its own steroids, this drug can help. Exactly it works by preventing tissues from responding to inflammation. Dexamethasone also stimulates increases in growth hormone production. That means that it can be effective for certain pituitary gland problems.
