Is epidural abscess dangerous?

I’ve just heard that my friend has epidural abscess. He is in hospital now and he is preparing for operation. I don’t know anything about epidural abscess and I’m really worried. Does anybody know something more about it? Is epidural abscess dangerous? Tell me what are the possible complications? Thanks!

Yes, it can be very dangerous. I know that epidural abscess is a rare but potentially life-threatening disease if left untreated. It may press on the spinal cord or nerve roots and unable some mental skills, the ability to feel sensations and even the ability to move. Then you can suppose what are the possible complications.
