| Hi, can you answer me this – is gain weight considered as depression syndrome? I am 44 years old and it looks like menopause is slowly getting to me. I get irritated more easily, mood changes are killing me, I cry a lot (depression is a worst symptom, I must admit!). And I gained a lot of weight, is it because of depression or menopause? |

| It might be both. Many depressed people try to deal with their dark thought and bad mood with food, and the interesting thing is, it does help them, at least for a little while. And also, it might be because of the hormonal misbalance that occurs in menopause. That can also result in those mood changes, crying etc. |
