Is heart defibrillator safe?

My father had a heart attack few weeks ago. He is ok now but his doctor told him that it’s maybe necessary to put implantable defibrillators. He explained that it will be very helpful. I’m worried because I’m not sure that it’s safe. Can some with experience tell me Is heart defibrillator safe?

Well, you can believe to doctor. Don’t worry! They know what is really necessary. You should know that defibrillator sometimes is the only solution. Death after heart attack can be prevented with implantable defibrillators. They constantly monitor the patient's heart rhythm, and automatically administer shocks for various life threatening arrhythmias.
