Is hepsera the best drug for treating hepatitis b?

My brother has just returned from the doctor and news are not good at all. The initial diagnose was correct hepatitis b. Now he has to deal with this condition and I just do not know if he can handle it mentally. He was always full of energy and ready for any sport activity. Anyway, he got hepsera for his condition and I need to know Is hepsera the best drug for treating hepatitis b?

I guess that this drug is as good as any other. What I want to say is that therapy has to be tried first in order to see if there is any positive effect. It should be effective but you must know that virus can only be contained and slowed down, not destroyed. Also, look out for side effects, if those show up, get him to the doctor and see what to do next.
