What are you talking about? i personally have this problem and it is horribly uncomfortable for me, whether i wear tight clothes of baggy and it's not that i dont want it on show its for my comfort only. I am too embarrassed to tell my mum and defenatly not my dad even though i know she won't mind and will help me. Also i defenatly do not want surgery but it might be the only solution.
I am only 13 and didn't know know anything about this abnormality untill now and would apreciate a reply telling me more and some advice and reassurance that im not the only one with this problem. Is it strange for a 13 year old girl to get this?

Whatever clothing you wear it always rubs against something, wether it be clothing or mainly my legs.......nothing can solve it unless (and this may sound discusting) but what i do is to tuck the over sized labia inside the folds of skin, then it's fine. But what i'm worried about is not than men like it is that wether it affects other parts of the body.....breathing or things like this, i dont think so but i better check! Also is this serious and will it go away cos i dono wether 2 tell my mum cos i really dont want surgery atall, but i'm afraid it might be the only solution.

The majority of men will not object; As long as they are getting laid, believe me, a guy, labia are not going to be sufficient enough motivators to halt most of men's sexual pursuit. The important issue here is that you are uncomfortable—that your condition is distracting in daily circumstances that are usually not bothersome. And for those reasons, continuously reaffirmed through experience, and not for reasons of aesthetic ideals, should you seek a solution.

I have this so called "problem" and what I have to say to you young girls is that you shouldn't be embarrassed about it. When I was in highschool I finally got the courage to ask my doctor about them, if he noticed I was different down there compared to other girls. He looked at me puzzled and said no, I was perfectly normal. I said no, the outside is too big, thick, and he told me they weren't. As much as 40% of women have enlarged labia, some more so than others. I asked him if there was something I could do about it, and he said there was always surgery, but you can lose sensation from it, and it is a very very painful procedure. He asked if they bothered me and I said no, not often, when i wear jeans, I just don't wear underwear and i tuck them, and there's hardley ever a problem, I've found going pantyless works best for me. Oh, and I've never had a guy say anything about them. Once I even had a threesome and the girl had so called "normal" labia, and at first I was really jealous and thought she might find mine "weird" but no, she was fine with them, I just think we who have them are more self conscience because we are a minority, but that isn't always a bad thing, it hardly ever is to be a little bit different than the next.

I'm a 17 year old schoolgirl and I have noticed that something isn’t right with my genitals.
I didn’t pay attention on it before but now, it started to bother me.
When I sit in a school bench for a long time I'm starting to have irritation in my vulva region.
After irritation, of course, even normal walking running can represent quite a problem.
How could I describe me problem? My vulva does not have usual shape because some labia from inside are peaking out because they are too big. So, in a normal shape, the most expressed are those labia minora.
I don’t know is this normal but I don’t think so.
Of course I'm too embarrassed to discuss about this with my parents of with my friends at the school. Please help!

i have the same problem!

Hi,
I will go ahead and tell you all that having protuding labia is not very helpful to a girls self esteem. I know because I actually got it while having my son a year ago and just now have decided to do something about it, not because it was causing irritation, but because I just felt so uncomfortable having something hang down like that, especially since I have had no problem with it for 27 years. I FELT ABNORMAL!!!

If you want to have surgery, I say go for it...IT DOES NOT HURT much at all. I am sitting here right now with NO PAIN. It gets a little sore when I walk from time to time and there is some dull pain every now and then, but nothing like I thought it was going to be. SERIOUSLY!

It is still a little swollen from surgery, but from looking at it in the mirror today, I feel so much better knowing that I am going to be normal again and this thing isn't hanging down. I LOVE IT!!

GOOD LUCK ON WHATEVER YOU DECIDE!!
