Is hypertrophy of labia minora normal thing?

um first off how would you know if my parents are close to me. and second its not that i'm self consious, its an actual medical disorder and it can cause discomfort and other things if you read the above comments. i wouldn't care if i just had big labias.

now that is a very closed minded answer. how are you to know if i am close with my parents or not and its not being self consious. this is an actual medical condition and it can cause discomfort and other problems as well. itrs not like i'm embarassed of having a big labia or something.

I can't see how it would be any more uncomfortable than the junk us guys have to carry around with us everywhere. I say to these women complaining about the discomfort, if you'll pardon the expression, grow a pair. Razz

She didn't ask what men or her partner like! She doesn't like it! Go for the surgery if it bothers you or causes you discomfort. I had it and am pleased. You heal well and fast there. And don't wear baggy clothes. I had a pretty nice figure, with a lot of work, after 2 babies...which didn't help the labia issue..why should I hide it.
Do what you think will make you most comfortable and feel good about it. Nobody will ever know. And men will find you appealing whether you have it or not. Good luck!

problem you have is same as me, and my problem is more than you. people said nothing wrong with large labia they wrong. it is big problem you will have all in your life. I am a girl age 19, I have big problem with minora labia because both are large all the time hurts so much, I cannot walk more than 10 minuts if I did I get higher fever because hurts so much, infection, itching is everyday. I couldn't find where to go for surgery. I went to see gynecology never help me said is normal and not normal, I am trying to will go back again. I had have to stop to go to school because a pain from my minora labia.
please tell your parents problem you have because is not easy problem may be your parents will fund doctor who can give you surgery. otherwise is big problem, only surgery I think is one solution.

Im a male and think that large labia are such a turn on I absolutly love them.
That being said if they are causing you severe medical issuses then I guess elect for surgury.
That being said you must determine if this is a mental issue or truly a medical issue. Many people can think themselves sick or in pain because they have decided they are.
Lets face it men have a twig and berries between there legs that get rubbed by clothing all the time, we just learn to deal with it.
Most men truly find large labia a turn on. I would rather have a woman with huge hanging lips then one with none or very little.

honestly, when I first engaged in anything sexual with my boyfriend at the time and I explained why I was acting so strange, he laughed. he couldn't even help himself. he said, "why would I care? I love you. I love THAT. really. you're perfect." and now I realize how stupid I was for letting it affect me in the first place.
sometimes I feel self conscious about it but it isn't holding me back. it isn't rough or disgusting or uncomfortable. it's soft skin and I know it only increases sensation so why on EARTH would I EVER cut it off? I'd miss my labia!

hello girls ! i have it and i despise it !!!
i'm 16 and i really thing i'll get surgery as soon as i've got the courage to tell my mum, and when we could afford it. (our medical insurance doesn't pay cosmetic surgery, and it's not very cheap). However, it would be in a few months because i've just had my nose job done, and i cannot have another surgery so soon.

I haven't told my boyfriend about this, but i would love to. It's so frustrating that i cannot enjoy when he's touching me down there, just because i think my labia is disgusting. He gave me oral sex a copule of times but i definitely don't enjoy it as i'm acting weirdly in order to get rid of him (when he's down there, or when his fingers are over there).

Also when i use any kinds of jeans i'm really uncomfortable.

It's said that doctor's haven't found the reason that causes this problem, but that it's something more common than you think, and many women have it.

I personally think medical insurances have to pay for it, because it's more than esthetic, it's something that bothers us as we walk, or run, or even have sex.

It's so good that i would get the surgery done the sooner as possible ! Smile

i totally understand you girls!! i just enjoy penetration when i'm having sex because then, he doesn't need to touch me although i would love it if he does it.

i know he woulnd't have any problems with it, because he loves me , and he would totally support me if i decide to get that surgery done Smile

i think the clue to solve this problem is to have confidence in doctors, parents and boyfriends, if they love us, they will understand this isn't something bad, and that we need help to get a better life's quality Smile

yea i hear ya, i hav it 2 honestly i am so self conscience of it but i wanna tell ya that ur not alone. and many girls hav it 2. i dunno how it starts but mine were inflamed at 13. im 16 now an thinking bout surgery, unless some 1 can convince me other wise im goin thru with it. Confused
