Is ipecacuanha good for chronic constipation?

I need some help for my husband’s health issue. He has been diagnosed with constant constipation and it seems like this condition is giving him a lot of trouble. He got some meds, but I am not sure of those would help as much as they should, so I am looking for some additional therapy. Is ipecacuanha good for chronic constipation?

As far as I know, ipecacuanha is excellent for many conditions, some of those related to intestinal problems. I know that it helps with diarrhea, but I am not that certain about it being effective for constipation. I guess you will have to be a bit more patient and see how are the meds he was prescribed helping him.
