Is it possible to read good with dyslexia?

Hello! My brother has a son who has dyslexia. He is very good in arithmetic but he can’t do well in other subjects since he reads with difficulties. He learns very slowly which present great problem to him. I was thinking about some tutorial sessions few times a week with a specialist. Is it possible to read good with dyslexia?

Hello! It all depends on severity of dyslexia. A child with mild form of dyslexia often learns to read well enough to succeed in school. There are also children with sever type of dyslexia who will never be able to read well. In that case they have to choose trainings for vocations that don’t require reading skills. If left untreated dyslexia may lead to behavioral problems.
