AT the beginning of last week I was having flu like symptoms, very tired, a little nauseaded. When to work Mon and Tues. Tuesday night fell flat on my back walking across the street on ice. Wednesday, I was feelin worse but had a doc appt anyway so called in sick. Went to the docs and he said that I had a swollen belly and it was tender and that I probably had a little bit of food poisoning from something I aite the day before on top of a slight flu. He told me to rest up. Went to work the next day being Thursday and ended up lasting only one hour and went home sick. Went to bed and took some Advil to help me sleep and for the ache in my stomach and nausea. Had a very small supper that night. During the night woke up at 2am and had severe nausea (no vomiting or diarrhea), and pain in my belly radiating to my back. I didn't want to wake anyone up so lasted until the morning when my daughter woke up to go to work. Since she worked in a hospital she took me with her. They at first thought it was gallstones. I said that it couldn't be because I had already had my gallbladder removed a few years back. I had also had a total hysterectomy one year ago and am on Ogen and Coversyl for hypertension. They thought that a stone may be lodged in the bile duct that is normally left behind after surgery. I didn't know that, nice to know now. After being put on IV, they took blood and put me on Morphine with Gravol. The blood tests came back showing that everything was okay. They ordered a CT Scan which revealed I had a slightly inflammed pancreas but it was strange because my Lipase level was normal. Everything else on the scan was okay. They decided to keep me overnight and the next day took more blood. That came back normal as well but I still had some pain. The ER doc suggested that if the pain came back like it did to come back, otherwise he was ordering an ultrasound to take place on Monday and to see my GP to get a GI consult. That could take up to six months. So on Monday, I went to the Ultrasound and will wait for the results. I will stay on the Percocet/Oxycodone that the ER doc put me on and hopefully all will be well. I am not a drinker, but am overweight and have been working on reducing that. I am under a fair bit of stress from work and mostly from family. Could this have been the cause? Coudl the medications that I am on have contributed to this? What are your thoughts on this. I am the kind of person that likes to be educated if there is something wrong with me and would appreciate it if you could shed some light on this for me.

Thankyou in advance
