My 3month old is both formula and breastfeed, she has not had a bowel movement since Thursday, she isn't turning red or even trying to go but she seems more cranky than usually. could she be blocked and not be able to go
Usually breast fed babies dont have a problem with constipation. Sometime formula with Iron causes it and you can ask your doctor if you can go to low iron, but they do not usually like to do that. Try offering a little water in between feedings. NEVER Karo syrup! Karo, like honey could contain even small amt of Botulism which could hurt tiny babies. If your babies stools are not hard, they may not be constipated, they may just not poop as often as you are used to.
