Hi, a doctor told me that I need a neck surgery. Is that necessary in my case? My physical therapy failed and meds don’t work, but maybe I could try something else. Any similar experience?

Hello, my mother had a neck surgery six months ago. She was using chiropractic care, physical therapy, and anti-inflammatory agents, but none of that worked. Then a doctor sent her to do x-rays and an MRI, and it turned out that she had an obvious structural abnormality. He told her that a surgery was necessary, and she didn’t object because she was sick and tired of having pain and limited motion. A doctor told her that she had to quit smoking which wasn’t easy, but she did it. After the surgery, she didn’t feel well for the first couple of days, but soon the pain was relieved and she felt better. As the time was passing, her symptoms were reducing, and today she doesn’t have problems with her neck and back. Sometimes, the surgery is necessary, and if you want to recover you have to take that risk. Before you do it, you can visit another doctor and get a 2nd opinion.
