Is obstructive sleep apnea associated with snoring?

I would like to ask you about my father's condition. He is 55 years old and he has just been diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea. Is that condition associated with snoring (he does snore a lot)? Is that condition dangerous? What are his options? I am so concerned for him, I worry all the time...

Sleep apnea is not symptomized with some symptoms that would disturb his daily routine (although rarely there might be some complications). The problem is, in the worst case scenario, heart problems might occur. That is why it would be wise to start some sort of therapy. And sometimes, even surgery will be performed.
