I have been taking Remicade months now. I have not been taking methotrexate or any other drug with the Remicade until recently, when I started Etodolac. The last time I had the infusion, I got very itchy within 20 minutes of starting the drug. I thought that this was the allergic reaction but I believed that Remicade is considered as steroid. Does the Remicade is considered as a steroid?
Remicade is a biologic agent that has substantial benefits in patients with a number of inflammatory disorders involving the immune system. Remicade is a type of protein that recognizes and blocks the action of tumor necrosis factor (TNF). Remicade is not a steroid but may also help you reduce or stop steroid use. This will be decision of your gastroenterologist.
