Hello! I have notice my son has been having mild stuttering problems for more then three months now. My mother says I should do something about it but my husband thinks this is only a phase in his speech development. If stuttering persists I will visit a speech specialist. Is there a successful therapy for stuttering?
Hello! Any stuttering therapy may help prevent developmental stuttering from becoming a life-long problem. If your son’s problems continue longer then six months you should visit a speech-language pathologist who is a professional specially trained to test and treat individuals with speech disorders. The methods used in stuttering treatment may improve stuttering to some degree but can’t cure it.
