Is there any pharmacological possibility for inherited cancer treatment?

Hi, I need some clarification here. A friend of mine suffers from a breast cancer, something her mother also had. It looks like the tumor has progressed so far that the surgery will have to take place. Can you tell me if there is any pharmacological possibility for inherited cancer treatment?

Well, if the surgeons said that she has to be operated on and the tumor physically removed, than it is something that has to be done. I guess that the meds will come after, to try and eliminate the residual tumor cells, if there is any. And the longevity of that therapy will depend on the amount of the tumor cells left after the surgery. Let’s hope there won’t be any…
