My fiance believed she was pregnant a year ago. She had symptoms such as nausea and fatigue, to an extreme that seems to fit a preganant woman. She had her period that month within schedule, no apparent signs of miscarriage like excessive bleeding or pains. I was wondering if there is any way to know if she did indeed miscarry. Since it was over a year ago, would there be any way to know if she really was pregnant? Any kind of test? Or could it have been some kind of extreme paranoia, because no condom was used but climax never happened because she would freak out and stop. Can there even be an answer to this, or will it be forever a mystery and better off forgotten?

HI Nick..

NO, there is no way to tell NOW. PMS is just like pregnancy symptoms, so it is highly likely that she was just being paranoid.

IN THE FUTURE.... A pregnancy test will show up positive for up to 2 weeks after a miscarriage, so if she suspects pregnancy or a miscarriage, she should simply take a pregnancy test.

Thanks for the response Carifairy. I ask all this because she has some trouble with this at times. I'd like to help her more but I don't really know what to say unless I educate myself a little more. I've read around on the net but I thnk I need some input from people, not just a web site. I did some brief research on Pseudocyesis. In the case of my Fiance, it was her worst nightmare that anyone found out she had sex before marriage, even more dreadful was the thought that she might have a baby. It would have been a scarring shame to her. Anyway, she had unprotected sex but the guy never ejaculated. I've heard there is a small possibility of there being trace amounts of sperm inside precum. She said that food made her sick, she could only eat saltines for while, experiencing these things until she had her period and then it stopped. I think that nausea, fatigue, and depression were her symptoms, no pains or anything, and her period that month seemed normal. Can someone with the dreadful fear of being pregnant have a high chance of getting Pseudocyesis?
