Is tinnitus associated with hearing loss?

Hello! My father has tinnitus. I want to know is tinnitus associated with hearing loss. I have not noticed that he has some problems with hearing, but regarding the fact that he is old, I am afraid that hearing loss is his case. I hope you will be able to tell me something more about this subject. Thank you very much!

Hello! Tinnitus can be associated with hearing loss, but it can occur for many other reasons. I suggest your father visiting his doctor and doing some medical exams. After these tests his doctor will be able to tell him and you if it is tinnitus occurred because of hearing loss or something else is case there…
