My father has been diagnosed with diabetes type 2. He is 67 years old and I am really worried for him. He is very hard for negotiations about food and diets he has to follow. My friend told me a lot about vegans food. Is vegan diet helpful in diabetes? Will it help my father? That of course, under the assumption I can persuade him to start with that diet.

I will just point out some statistic results. Forty three percent of people suffering from diabetes 2 have been under the vegan diet for 6 months and their need for medication was decreased considerably. They also lost weight and cholesterol level reduced. Vegan diet excludes all animal products (meat and dairy). The only thing people using this diet has to be aware is their B12 level. It has to be taken while under this diet.
