Hi, I am 19 years old, and interesting about vitamin D. By my knowledge, there is different kind of vitamin D but everyone said hat vitamin D2 is the most toxic. What it can do to our bodies? Is here any toxic dose or it depends in which form you take it? What are sources of vitamin D2?

Ultraviolet irradiation produces ergocalciferol or vitamin D2 of a provitamin D sterol (ergosterol). Both of them have equal biologic activity. Vitamin D2 is most often added to milk and other foods. Ergosterol, which is present in plants, is the provitamin for Vitamin D2 and can be obtained from yeast. Direct toxic effects of vitamin D are excessive absorption of calcium.
