| My husband has been diagnosed with ischaemic heart disease and has been prescribed medication. He is 53, very active, tall and thin, can cycle, run and play football like a 30 year old. He smokes very occasionally, drinks little alcohol and eats a healthy diet, mainly vegetarian. Basically, he has looked after his body very well. About three years ago he was beaten up quite badly and still has some protruding ribs. He did not seek medical attention at the time because he had put the guy who beat him up in hospital and did not want to meet his family there. An ETT (exercise treadmill test?) this week showed that his heart did not return back to normal after the e fine excercise although he felt absolutely. He was admitted to hospital for two days and is now awaiting an angiogram. I think something is pressing somewhere near or on his heart, is this possible? He has pain (he calls it a fluttering not pain) in his chest when he cycles (he has a racing bike so bends forward) but not when he plays football or runs. On the treadmill he had to bend forwards. He did not feel tired after ten minutes. Could it be that his ribs or another injury cause this? |

| It's possible that an injury caused this. An x-ray would probably confirm that. If he hasn't gotten an x-ray, ask for it. |
