Hi, few days ago i have noticed a few red spots on the bottom of my scrotum, i wasnt worried at first, tried washing it, i thought that after taking a few showers it will go away but after washing it started itching and it spread on almost all of my scrotal skin and on the base of my penis. After the itch started i couldnt resist scratching it a few times and the itch just got worse. What am i suposed to do? Thanks.

The symptoms you have described lead me to think of two possibilities: one is allergical reaction to some substance (for example certain kind of soap you’re using or shower gel ) and in that case you should try to single out and remove the allergen, try using a different kind of soap/shower gel or the best would be to use just clean water at first. You should also try cleaning the itchy spots with a special medical soap that you can find in any pahrmacy, it is possible that certain ingredients of cosmetics youre using are causing the allergy.
The second and most probable cause is fungus infection. Fungus infections are not rare in those areas where the moist is high so it makes them easier to grow. Scratching will make it even worse, you rub the fungus into your skin causing the itch to get worse and other parts of your body can be infected as well. I dont think there will be any problems since those infections are relatively easily treatable with certain fungicide cremes. In any case i think you should consult your GP or your family doctor for advice and treatment.
Good luck
