| Put salt and chilly powder on the itchy parts and leave it over night then you can experience the magic relief for yourself. |

I have had this similar problem for several years. It happens during winter time. My fingers start getting swollen and when I put warm water on them, they feel itchy. They get really rough and dry. My fingers become double in size and become red. But this doesn't happen to every finger. Some of my fingers and toes get swollen. If anyone knows cure please do tell us.
Thanks |

| Well, I have had this problem for about a month and a half now. It started one night by my knees going bright red, burning hot, and swollen. The next day my hands and my fingers did the same thing. I tried to ignore it but after a couple of weeks with daily episodes (my feet, hands, toes, fingers, knees all going bright red and swollen at various times) I started to worry. My doctor has sent me for blood work and it showed that my rheumatoid factor was elevated. I am still in the process of having mor blood work done. But so far all the doctors I've seen in this short time (3) have suggested an autoimmune disease (Rheumatoid arthritis, Lupus, etc. ) I don't know too much about these...I am only 25 and thought i was a healthy individual. Anyway, if anyone has anything to say I'd appreciate it. Hope this was helpful to some. |

| I have had this problem of itchy feet, hands, welts, etc. for several years it has also affected my throat and tongue. I went to many doctors and Allergy specialists who could not find out what the problem was but all agreed it was an allergy of some sorts. One doctor had me take ALLEGRA which seemed to work. The problem seemed to go away in April 2004 and the only thing that changed was I semi retired and stopped eating as often in resturants. It reappeared in Dec.2006 when we went to vist our daughter in England (who is a biochemist). after eating Indain food and Tia food it came back with a vengence, but was brought under control with the Allegra ( don't leave home without it).the only conclusion we can come up with is that it is some chemical (food perservative) that is in food or drink. I don't think there is a easy solution to this problem but watch the fast food restuarnt. Good Luck |

| I have been experiencing many of the same symptoms I have seen others write about... I thought it was just me that couldn't find a competent doctor, but now I see I'm not alone! Every few months, my fingers will start to swell... First I will notice one finger (always around the top knuckle) is a little tight in the morning when I wake up. Then, usually the next day, it will be almost twice the normal size and usually very red. They do itch as well, but I really think that is attributed to the fact the the skin is stretched taut because of the swelling. Then after about a week or so, another finger will do the same thing, usually on the other hand... but again, always the top joint, either on the top of the finger or the side... This will usually last about 3-4 weeks and then, poof! they are back to normal like nothing ever happened. I have been to 3 doctors and one specialist (for Rheumatoid arthritis)... All have taken x-rays and blood work and end up scratching their heads saying they cant figure out whats wrong, but tell me to come back in six weeks anyway... yeah, rght! I have tried topical steroid cremes for swelling, heat packs, ice packs, a combination of the two, soaking my fingers in warm water and epsom salt, nothing ever seems to work.. I have started charting the times when they swell, to see if it may be because of the weather, but it happens at different times, in different seasons. I did come on here looking for advise, but then again, if someone who had this problem actually FOUND something that works, they probably wouldnt need to be surfing these sites, but in any case, its worth a shot |

| I get those a lot also. It feels like Poison ivey. I heat with wood. I stacked a bunch of firewood two days ago. I know many times there are poison ivey vines on firewood. They don't have to be green. |

I had this problem about 5 years ago. My fingers on the right hand became swollen, itching and red. After a few day on my left hand. I felt burnig itching pain and my finger and joints doubled the size. The skin started crack on them very deeply. It started all together with cracking skin and swollen red nose and face around the nose and extensive inflamation. I was shocked, I had never experinced something like this I had never heard or knew somebody with such health problem. I though I was going fall apart. I went to see my GP who gave me antibiotics and some cream on fingers and my face, but he could not say any proper diagnosis. Obviously the cream and antibitics did not help very much. I felt constant weakness and kind of flu for very long time. I though I will never get rid of it.
So I went do the Chinese herbalist shop to get help just no far from where I lived. This chinese doctor lady was very helpfull and did give me diagnosis from my pulse, tongue and from my overall apearance. She told me I have extensive heat in my body system and my imunity system is very low. I was very happy to hear somebody who can tell what my diagnosis finaly is. Now I think would never have anwer from modern western medicine.
She gave me 7 big full bags with chinese herbs to drink them 3 x a day for a week and some little jar with natural cream to put on my face and my fingers. I drank these herbs as she told me. I must tell it was horrible bitter taste, but she says that the bitter taste is very important part of treatment.
Just in couple of days I felt much better. After 7 days I had my health restored. I went to see her after then as I was told. She gave me some more but different herbs to finish my treatment and advise how to keep healthy.
I live in London where too much rain so there is constant humidy in the air in your house, or in the work. I am not from England originaly so my body is not used to it. This was propably the reason why I had this horrible problem. This dump did get to my bones and lowered my imunity system with all this fingers and face nose problems. Thankfully to Chinese doctor and her treatment I am ok now.. |

I would try to find the hardest surface to scatch then after scratching a while the finger would start to swell then hurt like a thorn was in it or something. The skin is not broken at all. just red swollen and painful and itchy. |
Did you ever find out what this was????? |

| I have recently developed severe itchy hands and feet. It started 3 days ago with a blotchy rash all over my body.(HOT) The rash has gone away but my hands and feet itch. Especially when they are warm, like under the covers at bed time. This is my third sleepless night filled of itching. I am recalling that the only thing different the day it started was that I went to get my allergy shot. I was a week and a half late so they decreased my dose. I wonder if this has anything to do with it. Nothing releaves them but cold ice water. But, once they heat back up, they itch again. Can anyone give me any hope? 40 year old healthy woman |
